School Chess League dedicated to the day of St. Nicholas started today in Lviv. It is organized by Lviv Regional Chess Federation and Lviv City Council. Traditionally athletes are hosted by Volter Hotel.

Today only chess players from primary schools are competing. And tomorrow the secondary school students who did the pre-registration will join them.

According to the organizers, more then five hundred students take part in the Tournament.

Competitions are held by the Swiss system of 9 rounds by FIDE rules.
