Before the beginning of the 5th round they greeted the chess players with International Women’s Day and presented them flowers, tickets to the football match and souvenirs. A football player Volodymyr Kostevych made the first symbolic move with white pieces instead of Hou Yifan and one of the sponsors of the Match Nazar Palidovych with black ones instead of Mariya Muzychuk.

‘It was a surprise for me to get a chance to make the first symbolic move in this Match. I do not play chess but I know the rules. I played in childhood with my father last time’, said Ihor Khudobyak, football club Karpaty player.

‘I was almost late today because I had trainings, but I’ve done all possible to be in time. I hope my move will help Mariya to win. I do not play chess now but I played chess with my father when I was a little boy with, and I lost every time. To my mind, chess and football have many things in common. You need to think in both games, and calculate a few moves ahead’, said Volodymyr Kostevych, football club Karpaty player.
